Swimming with Dolphins

Whale watching experience with a speedboat in Madeira Island.

An unforgettable experience

Get closer than ever to wild dolphins in their natural environment with this unforgettable experience off the coast of Madeira. On this small-group speed boat tour (max. 12 people), you'll have the rare opportunity to enter the water and swim alongside dolphins—if the conditions are right.

Madeira has strict regulations in place to protect marine life, and swimming is only allowed with specific species: Common Dolphins and Atlantic Spotted Dolphins. While swimming cannot be guaranteed on every tour, the crew works hard to maximize your chances. When conditions are favorable, guests may enter the water in groups of 4, always connected to the boat for safety and control.

In case swimming is not possible, or if the only sightings are of species we cannot swim with (such as whales or Bottlenose Dolphins), you’ll still enjoy a dolphin or whale watching experience—and receive a partial refund for the difference between the swim and observation rates.
